Multi-Target Tracking Paper
AIAA Aviation 2024 Conference Paper
Multi-Target Tracking Paper
Being presented at the AIAA Aviation 2024 Conference, my paper dives into the application of a distributed thermal camera network to accurately track several UAV's in an outdoor environment. It also discusses the effectiveness of Random Finite Sets (RFS) in observing and tracking new and old objects being reintroduced into the camera scene.
The paper is titled 'Multi-Target Tracking of Small Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles using Poisson Multi-Bernoulli Mixture Filtering with a Network of Small Thermal Cameras'.

Big Ideas
Apr. 12, 2024
I'm excited to announce that my team won the Grand Prize at BIG Ideas 2024! Over the past semester, my team and I developed an in-depth proposal and professional-quality video describing our idea and business plan for implementing it. Judged on the basis of creativity, social impact, quality, and viability, our team was the highest scoring out of the 19 teams competing.
I'd like to give a huge shoutout to my other team members, Malachi Crain, Andres Aguilar Calderon, Adam Nguyen, and Taylor Schnorbus! I'm also very thankful for our mentor, Matthew Jaeh, who provided us with excellent feedback and advice.

Student Leadership 2024
President - SGT Honor Society, Treasurer - AIAA student chapter
Student Leadership 2024
2023-2024
Serving as Vice-President in 2023 and President in 2024 of the SGT Honor Society has been a great privilege. Sigma Gamma Tau is the honor society for Aerospace Engineering and seeks to identify and recognize achievement and excellence in the Aerospace field. SGT also assists universities and aerospace programs by giving back to the community through volunteering. At the University of Alabama, I have helped implement a tutoring program with the Alabama Aviation High School to prepare their students for college. Other responsibilities include administration, meetings, manning department booths, and giving college tours to prospective students.
I have also served as treasurer of the AIAA student chapter at the University of Alabama. In addition to being in charge of budgeting, I assist in scheduling and running meetings

Apr. 5, 2024
I'm excited to announce that I have been nominated as the University of Alabama's Outstanding AEM Junior! I'm extremely grateful for this recognition and honored to be a part of the university's aerospace engineering department. Special thanks to Dr. Jordan Larson and Dr. Mark Barkey for their mentorship over the years. Also, shoutout to Zachary Herring and Aabhash Bhandari (pictured) for being nominated as AIAA Outstanding Officer and Outstanding AEM Research Assistant respectively. Looking forward to what adventures and opportunities the rest of the semester will bring!
Spring Break Deployment
Remote Sensing Center Deployment to Grand Mesa, Colorado
Spring Break Deployment
Mar. 14-21, 2024
Over Spring Break, a team from my research lab, the Remote Sensing Center, were deployed to the Grand Mesa, Colorado. Lasting over two weeks, our mission was to collect snow depth and density measurements using advanced drone and radar systems. With our scan area being a full square kilometer, we had to overcome several obstacles including UAV endurance, fuel-rich engine combustion, and safe operation in hazardous weather conditions.
UA Innovate
1st Place Winner of UA Innovate 2024 Full Stack Category
UA Innovate
Mar. 2-3, 2024
After two years of falling short, I am excited to announce that this past weekend my team came in first in the 2024 UA Innovate Hackathon: Full Stack Development category! This year's prompt was to create an HR portal that would efficiently process and track prospective candidates. Using a full three tier architecture and powered by JavaScript, my teammates and I created a working and effective application in under 24 hours.
Huge shoutout to my teammates Samuel Gaines, Malachi Crain, and Logan Millet who absolutely crushed their roles. I’m so proud of what we accomplished and overcame, using our previous defeats to drive our success.
Big thanks to UA Innovate for hosting this amazing and CGI for sponsoring our category. Special thanks to CGI panelists Jacob Harrell and Grant Logsdon for giving their time and expertise to the event.

Data Analytics Hackathon
1st Place in the Inagural Data Analytics Hackathon at the University of Alabama
Data Analytics Hackathon
Sept. 16-17, 2023
Our team, including myself, Adam Nguyen, and Andres Aguilar Calderon, won 1st place at the 2023 IDA Hackathon organized by the Culverhouse College of Business Institute of Data and Analytics! With a dataset of over 50,000 entries and 15 assembly line sensors, we built a predictive machine learning model that detects product defects and their severity. But that's not all - we also used the model to identify areas in the assembly line that could be improved to increase profits and inform executive business decisions. All in all, our model would save just under 9 million a year for the given problem.

Generate by YM360
Summer 2023
In summer of 2023, I worked as a camp leader at Generate by YM360. Based in Birmingham, Generate offers week-long VBS camps for youth groups and kids between 6th and 12th grade. My team served in 10 camps which were hosted at 4 different states and shared the gospel to over 7000 kids. The roles I served specifically were bible study leader and guide: every week, I oversaw a group of 20-30 kids, mentored them, and became their best friend.
Working at Generate by YM360 greatly enhanced my teamworking skills, communications abilities, and helped overcome my fear of public speaking and leadership. It was a fantastic experience and shares some of my best summer memories.

Chess Champion
National Chess Master and State Champion
Chess Champion
3rd to 8th grade
From a very young age, I had exceled in understanding the strategy and concepts behind the game of chess. Soon after learning to play, I was beating all my classmates and even my teachers were beginning to struggle against me. When I was in 3rd grade, my dad, seeing my talent, encouraged me to take chess seriously and we went to my first state chess championship in Alabama where I won my first state chess championship. This victory encouraged me to continue studying the game and marked the start of my young chess career.
In the following years, I won the Alabama scholastic state championship 5 times, tied for 2nd in nationals, and represented Alabama twice in the middle school tournament of champions. In summer of 2016, I earned my crowning achievement and was officially recognized by USCF as a national chess master.
