About Me
Arden Markin
Controls and System Engineer
I am an avid senior pursuing both a B.S and M.S. in Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Alabama with a concentration in control systems and remote sensing. Maintaining a 4.0 GPA with honors, I exemplify hard work, professionalism, and a love for learning. Upon graduating with my bachelor’s degree in Spring of ’25, I will spend a fifth year completing my master’s in Spring of ’26. After school, I hope to become a leading expert in UAS operations and technology.
In fall of 2023, I joined the Remote Sensing Center as an UGRA and drone operations expert. In just one year, I have co-led or assisted in several research projects related to sensor fusion, system integration, GNC, and multi-target tracking. I have also been a part of several operations including a weeklong deployment to the Grand Mesa, CO.
I have served as president of the Aerospace Honor Society (2023-2024) and treasurer of the AIAA student chapter (2022-2023) at the University of Alabama. I am the winner of several hackathons and social innovation competitions, including the annual BAMA Big Ideas competition. In my free time, I play on the competitive BAMA ultimate frisbee team, visit family, and volunteer at my church.
